William H. Scott Succumbs At 58; Rites Wednesday William Howard Scott, 58, of 611 S. Washington St., died suddenly Monday afternoon at the James Smith residence, 414 E. Wabash Ave., where he was working in the basement repairing a water heater. Mr. Scott was employed by The Journal-Review 20 years as a pressman. He later worked at Hoosier Crown Corp. eight years and in recent years was self-employed. He was born Aug. 29, 1904, at Crawfordsville, the son of Samuel and Margaret Riley Scott. He was married to Mary Catherine Surber, who died in 1947. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Margaret Scott of Crawfordsville; a son, Ted Scott of Crawfordsville, two daughter, Mrs. Richard Bever and Mrs. Wayne Johnson, both of Crawfordsville; a sister, Mrs. Lee Foster of Crawfordsville; and seven granddaughters. Funeral services are announced for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Rev. Bennett Fulp will be in charge. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. - kbz
